A Desire
Work was okay... it was busy, but time went by quickly and I was able to get out rather fast considering. I worked five hours, which is one hour less than I had guessed, but long enough to not really have any time to do anything once I got home. We had a buffet for 70, a plated for 40 and the cafe was full with special menu crap and pasta bar stuff.
When I got downtown, I was starving and I checked the bus timer and saw that I had to wait at least 24 minutes for the southcrest and 29 minutes for the wharencliff, so considering I was starving and felt kind of shakey, I decided to go to McDonalds, eat a dinner, and stay warm while I wasted time before the bus came.
I ended up getting home around 10:15pm or so, and basically from the time I got in, to about five minutes ago (so about three hours) I just sat on the couch with a blanket and read nine chapters of Open, the autobiography of Andre Agassi. I wish I could keep reading... I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow, I wish I didn't have to go to sleep in a few minutes, I wish I could run away and live in the world that's created by this book and cease to exist for a bit and feel some relief. I'm enjoying the book, and look forward to reading more, however I probably won't be able to read any more until Monday, or Sunday evening.
Tomorrow is going to be hell. Tomorrow is going to be exausting, tiring, depressing, painful. Tomorrow is going to be a thirteen hour shift. The main event going on is a Gala 3, basically the largest 'party' we offer, with food displays of all types, hot food carvery, potato bar, satay stations... hor'duervs... lots of work. I'm not looking forward to it, in fact I'm dreading it. I have to work with a new person and show them how to do things, which not only do I hate doing, but it's going to slow me down and make the day seem even worse. I've got Tom at 11, Kyle at 2, and besides that, it's all the help I have really.
I can't wait for tomorrow to be over and it hasn't even started yet.
